Bank of America Stadium sits right in the middle of Uptown Charlotte, which means "close to the stadium" and "close to everything else" are basically the same search. Here's how to think about picking a base for All-Star Week.
Walk-to-the-gate options
- Residence Inn Charlotte Uptown — sits essentially next to the stadium, an easy walk for game day, with full kitchens in every room, useful for a multi-night stay.
- Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel — in Uptown's Third Ward, within walking distance of the stadium, Spectrum Center, and the Convention Center.
- The Westin Charlotte — steps from the Convention Center and a short walk to the stadium, four-star rooms with a fitness studio on site.
- Omni Charlotte Hotel — about 0.6 miles out, a highly rated four-star option with upscale dining, still an easy walk on game day.
Best for a livelier home base
- Moxy Charlotte Downtown — checks you in at the bar, central and walkable to Uptown nightlife, a good pick if you want energy built into the stay itself.
- JW Marriott Charlotte — upscale, centrally located, a solid choice if you want a more polished stay without sacrificing walkability.
Best value / extended stay
- Home2 Suites by Hilton Charlotte Uptown — a short walk to the stadium and consistently well-reviewed for the price point.
- Hyatt House Charlotte/Center City — suite-style rooms, good for groups or longer stays, praised for hospitality in reviews.
- Hampton Inn Charlotte-Uptown — dependable, no-frills, walkable to the stadium at a lower nightly rate than the luxury tier.
Booking timing
Uptown hotel demand spikes hard around major stadium events, and the MLS All-Star Game on July 29 — arriving just 10 days after the FIFA World Cup wraps — is shaping up to be one of the busiest dates of the year in the district. The cheapest months to stay near the stadium tend to run August and December through January; July, right in All-Star Week, is the opposite end of that curve. Book as early as your plans allow, and favor hotels with flexible cancellation in case your travel plans shift.
Skip the rideshare math: Uptown Charlotte is genuinely one of the most walkable stadium districts in the country — for most of the hotels above, walking is faster than a car once you factor in post-match traffic and rideshare surge pricing.
