Parking, transit, seating, and everything else to know before the MLS All-Star Game — or any Charlotte FC match.
Bank of America Stadium sits at 800 South Mint Street in uptown Charlotte — an open-air, 75,000-plus-seat venue that's home to both Charlotte FC and the Carolina Panthers. It set MLS's all-time single-game attendance record on Charlotte FC's inaugural home match back in March 2022, and it's one of the most walkable stadiums in American pro sports thanks to its downtown location.
The LYNX Blue Line light rail stops at Stonewall Station, a short walk from the stadium, and runs extended hours on match nights. If you're staying anywhere in South End, Midtown, or Uptown, this is the least stressful way in — it sidesteps parking congestion entirely. Fare is $2.20, and Park & Ride lots are available at stations further out along the line.
There's no single dedicated stadium lot — instead, more than 30,000 parking spaces are spread across uptown garages and surface lots within a 10-15 minute walk. Pre-purchasing a parking pass is worth it for high-demand matches like the All-Star Game; lot prices typically range $20-$40 depending on proximity. If you're relying on day-of pricing, expect surge rates right around the stadium — walking a few extra blocks toward Trade and Tryon Streets usually finds better rates.
Charlotte Douglas International (CLT) is about 7 miles from the stadium, roughly 12-20 minutes by car. Rideshare from the airport runs $20-$30. There's no direct light rail from CLT to uptown yet.
The stadium is fully open-air with a partial roof over parts of the lower bowl on both sidelines — worth knowing if rain is in the forecast. For hot-weather day games, the west sideline sits shadier than the east side. The Crown Stand carries the loudest supporters'-section atmosphere and tends to be among the more affordable tickets. Family-friendly sections cluster around the lower sideline near accessible restrooms and concessions.
Bank of America Stadium is mid-transformation — an $800 million renovation announced in early 2026, with Phase 1 replacing all 500-level seating and later phases through 2030 overhauling premium spaces and concourses. Both Charlotte FC and the Panthers continue playing there throughout construction, so expect some areas to look different from match to match as work progresses.
For the MLS All-Star Game on July 29: expect this to be one of the highest-demand dates of the year at the stadium — book parking or plan transit well ahead, and arrive on the earlier end of that 60-90 minute window.
